Knowledge English Essay

So the world I came to know began when I was six, when I moved here in the United States as a result of my father’s work. At such an early age, I was shipped to a spot where everything appears to be odd and unique. Dumbfounded, I sobbed for having no way out by any stretch of the imagination. There was nobody to converse with, who might comprehend, and who might mind. I asked myself how was I expected to get by in this nation when I don't know anyone and with little information on English. The industrious kid that I am, I went to class in San Jose. I expected to be disengaged; yet my desires were off base since I was invited by the whole school. Individuals didn't see my disparities; they happily acknowledged me. I was upbeat winding up in the organization of new companions, one of whom was Corey Tucker. It was noon; I sat alone on the seat, crying. Somebody out of nowhere came to over and stuck a chocolate-chip treat in my mouth. The kid started an intriguing discussion. At the point when I revealed to him I originated from Japan, he was energized, unendingly posing inquiries. With clumsy grins, I addressed every one of his questions despite the fact that I realized my English was not very great. When the lunch finished, Corey and I were closest companions. He before long acquainted me with his companions and was effortlessly acknowledged to the school and the general public I didn't exactly comprehend. They ensured I knew where the washroom, container, library, center, and study halls were and guided me in the language; beneficial thing I caught on quickly. As we developed, my companions didn't just show me English yet in addition American culture, way of life, convictions, and qualities. Truly, I got disillusioned at whatever point a colleague contends about the insignificance of examining math or material science since the individual in question sees no reason for investing energy to pick up something that won't be of acceptable use later on. I abhorred this line of contention, as I consider each part of training as a fundamental device in our lives. There is a motivation behind why math or material science is in the educational plan and why we have to learn it. At whatever point somebody battles that a specific course or field of study is futile, I heat up, constrained to show the false notion of such contention by giving explicit models from my own life or ordinary conditions. Every one of these individuals have molded my fantasy and yearning to seek after a degree in math or material science. My companions realized that I am generally energetic about material science and math. They have urged me to take this enthusiasm to a more significant level. They have consistently kidded that one day they will happily observe the Japanese companion they used to mentor become a physicist. I realized they will be cheerful in the event that I seek after my fantasy. There is no better method of indicating my thankfulness for the years we have been as one than giving them that the novice they have invited has grown up to be a fruitful man. In addition, the school world I originated from have shown me authentic information as well as esteems I need in confronting greater assignments in a greater world. I need to do right by them that I, who was previously a crybaby, getting a handle on left on the main day of school, am presently effective in my own field and ready to have any kind of effect in others’ lives. Besides, the world I originated from won't be the equivalent without the family that relinquished leaving Japan just to more readily accommodate my necessities. My yearning of seeking after math or material science, practice it, and put into great use is to a great extent for my mom and my dad to show my gratefulness for their endeavors and forfeits. Since America is my reality now, I try to understand this here in the land I have come to call my home. I have consistently accepted that the proportion of learning is its application. In this way, I plan myself and attempt to accomplish all encompassing turn of events. I constantly trust that the instruction I have gotten and will get can be utilized for the advancement of my reality.

Underground Railroads and Human Trafficking Research - 825 Words

Underground Railroads and Human Trafficking Research (Research Paper Sample) Content: Underground Railroads and Human TraffickingName:Institutional Affiliation:Underground Railroads and Human TraffickingUnderground railroads have a significant role in the history of slavery in the United States. It is via the Underground Railroad system that the various key activists were able to secure the freedom of hundreds of slaves. Using these underground railroads, hundreds of slaves were able to run to the slavery-free states of the nation. It is then safe to assert that devoid of this underground railway network, the escape from slavery would have been delayed for a significant while longer. The role of these underground railway networks has somehow changed over time to become opposite of what instigated its critical role and need in the period of slavery in the United States. It is unfortunate that human trafficking has become prevalent in the US because of the underground railway networks. Whereas the network had been a sign of freedom, it is now a sign of t he perpetuation of contemporary forms of slavery. In the contemporary society, human traffickers have been able to exploit the unique capabilities of the underground railway system to their benefit. It has to be understood that the shift in roles of the underground railway system is remarkable. Such a shift points to the complacency of the relevant authorities in meeting their mandated duties. The absence of effective monitoring has created an enabling environment for the success of activities of human traffickers (Perrin, 2010). The degree of success of the human trafficking activities is attested to by the actuality that underground railroads have now become synonymous with human trafficking activities. As such, it is factual to assert that the concept of underground railroads has experienced a significant shift for the worst: from a freedom, seeking tool to a freedom-curtailing tool. The extent of development of human trafficking in the world signals the potency of underground rail roads as a means of effectively transporting people between countries. It has been long been understood that human trafficking is slowly but steadily becoming a vice that is gaining popularity by unscrupulous groups. The people who are trafficked are usually forced in otherwise illegal activities. Victims of human trafficking become sources of cheap labor. It then translates to mean that slavery is still present in the 21st century.Different measures have been employed to arrest the perpetuation of human trafficking. The nature of the Underground Railroad system is that it is not visible to authorities. Such a capability is the very reason why it was a potent critical tool for those fighting against slavery in America during slavery. The critics of slavery found it to be well positioned to cater for movement of the slaves from the pro-slavery states to those states that had banned slavery. Just as it was effective back then, it is still effective in the contemporary society. As such , the first factor that has to be given mention is its overall invisibility to the authorities. The human traffickers have perfected the use of these Underground Railroad networks by exploiting the capabilities of these networks. As such, the first issue is the inability of the relevant authorities to monitor the movements of the human traffickers, which will subsequently culminate in the capture of the suspected human traffickers.Poverty is an aspect that makes it easy for the human traffickers to perpetuate their criminal activities (Hudson, 2002). More often than not, the human traffickers find all too willing unsuspecting people to traffic across state and borderlines. As such, poverty then creates an enabling environment for human trafficking and subsequently the use of the underground railroads. The relation between poverty and the use of underground railroads by the human traffickers is hinged that the allure of greener pastures. People from regions characterized with high le vels of poverty are extreme gullible to the advances of the human traffickers. As such, the allure of escape from poverty by the victims and their families acts as a potent instigator for believing in the p...

In addition to it, the hackers might have the desire of alerting people towards the fact that system is insecure and requires improvement. Because of this, some people argue that there might be cases, which we can consider as hackers ethics(Pashel, 2006). The concept of hacking is better understood by saying that victims feel that someone is sitting behind their computer and is noticing every single activity they do on their electronic device. It will not be wrong, if we will say that hackers are criminals and make individuals and companies lose their time and money (Sukhai, 2004). Implications of ethical issues for people and for technological practices Individuals According to the research of Palmer (2001), hacking results into loss of data because of files being deleted. Information of customer and information of order can be stolen and deleted. Sometimes, the hackers can post information from the government organization online, which can cause unrest. An individual can lose his savings to an unknown person and can even notice changes in their financial figures because of the hacking theft. Often we see in newspapers that customers are getting angry because their financial information gets hacked and because of that, they lose their savings. A virus was considered the major challenge in the history of risks of a computer, but at present virus is a secondary issue as hacking has gained popularity. Hackers use tricks for getting the secret information of the users and thereafter they use such information for their personal benefits (Palmer, 2001). Organizations Pashel (2006) feels that when the hackers gain access for computer, they can view everything on the computer. There is a risk of losing much more than money as most of our information has moved online nowadays. The implication for organizations may be devastating. Hackers can easily affect the performance of other employees by hacking their computers and making their speed slow. Such practice can affect the performance of employee being targeted. On a large scale, hackers can hack secret information of company for their personal benefit. Such loss to the company can affect its brand image and financial conditions. Implications As criminal activities of hackers are increasing in todays era, so it would be advisable to the individuals and companies to use some software that can prevent their electronic devices being hacked. Organizations can hire security experts in their organization for making them aware of the security thefts and preventing the secured data of company from being hacked. In simple words, it can be said that companies have to secure their data with the help of security experts and software for fighting the hackers and their criminal activities. Simple software and a virus detector will not be sufficient for the organization to fight against hackers(EY, 2013). Conclusion It is quite evident from the information discussed above that hacking is a critical ethical issue faced by information technology professionals nowadays. Nowadays anyone can easily hack the digital device, by the usage of advanced technologies in market and web enabled devices. Until and unless more regulations will be placed for stopping these digital criminal activities, people are going to face ethical issues around the world and these issues will rise day by day.
